All Things EFFY Tufting Gun Warranty

🛠️ EFFY Tufting Gun Warranty — A Comprehensive but Conditional 6-Month Warranty

Thank you for choosing an EFFY Tufting Gun! Our goal is to provide reliable, well-supported machines that help you create with confidence. While we don’t manufacture tufting guns ourselves, we work closely with the world’s top producers, rigorously testing every model we sell and ensuring high-quality parts, safe wiring, and durable construction.

This warranty explains exactly how we support you, what to expect if something goes wrong, and how to contact us for help.

🚨 Before Anything Else: Safety First

If your tufting gun shows any signs of malfunction, stop immediately and do not force the machine.

Stop using your machine if you notice:

  • Jamming or a jam that cannot be cleared easily
  • Burning smells (not normal)
  • Unusual resistance or grinding
  • Visible sparks except for the small harmless sparks in AK-I / AK-II / AK-Duo motors
  • Overheating adapter, plug, or cord

Do not attempt to “film the fault” if turning the machine on feels unsafe. We will guide you through how to inspect the gun manually (power off), which allows us to diagnose most faults without running the gun under stress.

This also prevents further damage — which is critical for determining warranty eligibility.

📩 How to Contact Us for Warranty Support

All tufting gun issues must be submitted by email.

✔️ Correct place to contact:
hello@allthingseffy.com

❌ Do NOT contact us on:

  • Instagram DMs
  • Facebook Messenger
  • Website chat bubbles
  • Comments or social media posts

These platforms are not monitored for repairs and will delay your support.

🎬 Step 1 — Submitting Evidence

To begin the warranty assessment, we will ask for:

  • Photos of how the gun arrived (box + packaging)
  • Photos or video of the issue (only if safe to film)
  • Close-ups of the needle, scissors, motor area, and wiring

We have nearly seven years of repair experience and can identify user damage vs. manufacturing defects with high accuracy. Photos are essential to help us make fair, consistent decisions.

🧰 Step 2 — Remote Troubleshooting (When Applicable)

If the issue is not clearly a manufacturing defect, we’ll begin with remote troubleshooting. This saves you time and avoids unnecessary shipping.

Remote troubleshooting may include:

  • Cleaning, lubrication, or dust removal
  • Realigning scissors, needle or components
  • Reseating screws or adjusting tension
  • Identifying minor jam causes
  • Confirming correct cloth type and adapter use

Many problems are easily fixed this way — often in under 10 minutes.

🏭 Step 3 — When a Return-for-Repair Is Needed

If remote troubleshooting does not resolve the issue, or the issue is internal, we may request the machine to be returned to our repair technician in New Zealand.

Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the issue is confirmed to be a manufacturing defect.

Turnaround time varies, but we recommend planning for a few weeks. If you run a business, we strongly recommend having a backup machine on hand. We regularly sell refurbished tufting guns (30–40% off) which make excellent secondary machines.

🔧 Clear Manufacturing Defects — Fully Covered

If your video/photos show a genuine manufacturing fault, such as:

  • Motor failure (burnout not caused by wrong adapter)
  • Loose or faulty circuit board
  • Critical mechanical component failure

Then:

  1. We will request the machine be returned to us.
  2. We repair 99% of defective units.
  3. We then ship you a brand-new machine.

EFFY covers BOTH:

  • 📦 Return shipping to New Zealand
  • 🚚 Outbound shipping of the replacement unit

Repaired units are sold only as refurbished in our New Zealand shop — never as new.

🔍 What the Warranty Generally Covers

The 6-month warranty covers major mechanical or electrical failures that are clearly caused during manufacturing and are not related to incorrect usage.

This includes:

  • Motor issues
  • Faulty circuit boards
  • Major mechanical component failure

Tufting guns are highly repairable. Nearly all issues on genuine AK models and professional models can be fixed. We only decline repairs when the repair cost would exceed the value of the machine — and that is extremely rare.

🚫 What Is Not Covered

Common non-warranty issues include:

  • Damage from incorrect adapters or voltage
  • Using hessian or plastic mesh instead of proper tufting cloth
  • Stepping on the machine
  • Dropping the machine
  • Forcing the machine when jammed
  • Bent feet, bent bars, or damaged tips from misuse
  • Unauthorised internal adjustments

These issues can still be repaired — but at the customer’s cost.

🔄 Warranty Extensions

If you'd like to extend your coverage, we offer warranty extensions up to 2 years total.

Each additional 6 months: $150 USD

🔧 Out-of-Warranty Repairs

If your 6-month warranty has expired, we can still service your machine.

Just email us at hello@allthingseffy.com and we’ll guide you through the process.

✨ Final Thoughts

Your EFFY tufting gun is a long-term tool — not disposable. With proper care, genuine AK models and our recommended premium machines last for many years.

We’re here to help you get the most from your machine and support you with fair, consistent, and experienced warranty service.
